Late season at Arthington

George Holden’s so far unbroken sequence of captaincy success was continued on Sunday-against Arthington’s “Festival team”- traditionally strong.

Your humble scribe can hardly recall a better Romany bowling and fielding performance against a good side. Good catches were held by Jonny and Andrew Moore,, after 20 overs Arthington were only 52-2, and there was hardly even a fumble. The throwing in from the deep by Ed Marsden, Vinay, Hamid, Atta and Jonny Lee was excellent throughout, and eventually we did get the run out we’d threatened to all afternoon-Arthington’s stylish but veteran Dudley, run out going for a second run.
