In the parkland setting of the hall at Thorp Perrow, the setting of the cricket ground is just perfect. Those whose batsmanship is not sufficient to trouble the opposition for long could take a walk around the famous arboretum alongside.
Directions: Take the A1 north, past the turnings to Masham and Kirklington. Exit the A1 at Burneston and turn left at the T junction in the village. Follow the road round to Carthorpe, turning right in Carthorpe towards Snape. Continue for several miles into the village of Snape. Go through the village, turning right into an unmade track just before the castle (at the end of the village green). Continue through parkland to the end of that track - the ground is on the right.
